The mocha lambskin, pointed toe and short geometric heel give them a sharper shape, and at 45mm they are also one of the lower heels in the selection. We could easily see these being worn with trousers as well as something dressier.

Amina Muaddi’s Leather Janis Heeled Sandals 45 are simpler again. The black thong strap is barely there, so the small pyramid heel is what catches your eye. At 45mm, they are another good option if you want a heel without going particularly high.

Prada’s Brushed Leather Slingback Pumps 55 Black have a pointed toe, low heel and small logo stamp near the front. The pointed shape is what gives them their character, and the rest of the shoe is kept clean and simple.
TOTEME’s Leather Slip Ballet Flats Black go in the opposite direction. The soft leather and rounded toe make them feel far less formal than most of the heels here. They are simple flats, and that is exactly what we like about them.

Christian Louboutin’s Dolly Mule 100 Patent Mules keep things very clean. The glossy patent leather, rounded toe and curved vamp give the upper a smooth finish, and the slim 100mm heel keeps the overall design simple. Then there is the red sole, which makes them unmistakably Louboutin.

Christian Louboutin’s Miss Z Lace Sling 100 Lace Slingbacks are very different from the Dolly. The lace upper makes them feel lighter and more detailed, with the open toe and slingback strap leaving more of the foot visible. The red sole is still there, but it does not dominate the shoe. Compared with the Dolly’s smooth patent leather, the lace gives the Miss Z a completely different feel.

Jimmy Choo’s Skye 70 Heeled Mules Black/Metal Mix are all about the detail across the front. The metallic leather and small gold flowers give the open-toe mule plenty to look at, and the flared 70mm heel keeps it from feeling too delicate.
Malone Souliers’ Sequin Mesh Norah Heeled Sandals 70 Black are darker and less decorative. The sequinned mesh adds some shine, but the curved straps and block heel give the shoe a firmer, more substantial look.

A little branding goes a long way
Saint Laurent’s Leather Babylone Sandals 90 keep the branding fairly subtle. The shoe itself is simple, with an open toe and slim straps, and the gold Cassandre logo adds just enough detail near the front. The logo dates back to 1961, when Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé commissioned Cassandre to create it, but here it is used sparingly. It is recognisably Saint Laurent without having the logo all over the shoe.

TOM FORD’s Suede Betty Pumps 105 Brown keep things simple with a pointed toe, a high stiletto heel and a rich brown suede finish. The colour gives them a warmer look than black would. There is very little branding or decoration, so the suede is what you notice first.

Jimmy Choo’s 1998 Leo 100 Satin Heeled Sandals Lagoon are really about the colour. The narrow satin straps keep most of the foot exposed, and the silver buckle adds a small contrast against the blue. At 100mm, the heel is one of the higher options here, but the lagoon blue is still what you notice first.

Our View
Harrods has a good mix of shoes here, and the best ones do not all rely on the same thing. Victoria Beckham’s Harlow stands out for its curved heel, Amina Muaddi uses a much smaller pyramid heel, Christian Louboutin brings the red sole, and Saint Laurent keeps the branding to one small piece of gold hardware.
What makes the selection interesting is the variety. Some pairs are decorative, some are much simpler, and a few are really about the shape of the shoe itself. The pairs we remember most are the ones with one detail that sets them apart without adding too much elsewhere.
Would We Buy It?
Yes. Victoria Beckham’s Satin Harlow Heeled Mules 100 would be our first choice. The silver satin is simple, but the curved heel gives them something different from the more traditional mules in the selection.
For a lower heel, we would choose LOEWE’s Lambskin Origami Cubic Slingback Pumps 45. Jimmy Choo’s Skye Mules are the pair we would choose for something more decorative, and TOTEME’s Leather Slip Ballet Flats are the easiest option for everyday wear.
