The Empire Carryall 34 makes the strongest case for Coach identity without an obvious monogram. Its small wordmark and hanging tag are secondary to the long, low body and the finish of the leather.
Coach uses a rub-off treatment on the glovetanned leather to reveal some of the base colour and create a worn-in effect. On the 34, that finish has enough space to register properly, giving the bag depth without relying on pattern.
The zip-top closure and protective feet make it practical, but they are not what defines it. The strength of the Empire 34 lies in how little it needs to do to feel specific.
